Hi, I’m Reneé Hoare
Clinical Counsellor (PACFA Clinical Registration)
BA (Arts) PGradDip Counselling
I am a naturally curious person and I love listening to people talk about their life. When I was younger, I was always the person my friends would offload their worries to. For me becoming a counsellor seemed natural. An important part of my approach to counselling is to listen without judgment. I believe in self-determination; I can help you take hold of your life in a way that works for you.
I support people who others misunderstand, labelled with something that doesn’t fit. It hurts to be misunderstood and ignored. These feelings can take over and be so confusing. You lose your identity and that’s not right. I have a strong belief that talking to a counsellor can help you. Together we can help you find meaning and purpose to your life.
Everyone deals with trauma in their own way. Sometimes life is hard. People can experience problems directly after the traumatic event or much later. I can support you in making sense of what you’ve been through and find a way through your pain.
I understand that sometimes we turn to drugs or alcohol to help us cope. Relationship issues, and mental health struggles often go hand in hand with drugs and alcohol. You can talk to me about these things. There is help for you.
I have completed training in Internal Family Systems and Process Oriented Psychology. I can help you to develop an awareness of your internal world, and this will help you change your relationship with yourself and the world.
